A Message From Supervisor Kate MurrayFriends, Many people begin a New Year by making resolutions to improve their health and well-being. But where to go and what to do often lead to decreased motivation and abandoned intentions. Fitness can be fun when you find the right setting and the perfect activity. But, where do you turn? And who do you trust! How ‘bout your friends in the Hempstead Town Parks Department We boast a wealth of recreational and cultural activities for residents to enjoy. Just "exercise" your right to pick a favorite class this winter. From the peaceful tranquility of yoga to the pulsating excitement of kick boxing, find a pace that’s comfortable and take that first step on the road to better health. And what better way to keep in shape than a fun-filled family outing to Echo Park Indoor Pool or Newbridge Ice Rink. There’s also a busy season of youth activities ahead with karate, swim lessons, voice training and arts & crafts. As we begin 2012 our parks system is in great "shape" and you can be too. The "welcome mat" is out and we look forward to seeing you throughout the year. On behalf of the entire Hempstead Town Board please enjoy a healthy and prosperous year ahead. Sincerely, |
