The Town of Hempstead is conducting road improvement projects in the communities listed below. All projects undertaken by the Town of Hempstead provide for maintaining access at all times. However, on some occasions, traffic interruption and temporary disuse of driveways cannot be avoided. In this respect, we appeal for patience, understanding and cooperation on the part of local residents.
Sherwood Avenue- Russell Street Area, Franklin Square
Project Area - Sherwood Ave, portions of Russell St, Mosefan St, Rosegold St, Theodora St and Carukin St, Franklin Square
Road Improvement - The project includes the construction of new curbs at certain locations, driveway aprons, installation of pedestrian access ramps at all intersections, new asphalt pavement and the restoration of disturbed grass areas. Project is scheduled to be completed in May 2010.
Cornell Road, Franklin Square

Road Improvement - The project includes the construction of new curbs at certain locations, driveway aprons, installation of pedestrian access ramps at all intersections, new asphalt pavement and the restoration of disturbed grass areas. Project is scheduled to be completed in May 2010.
Washington Avenue - Jennings Avenue Area, West Hemsptead
Project Area - Portions of Jennings Avenue, Washington Avenue, Lincoln Avenue and Wadleigh Avenue in West Hempstead.
Road Improvement - The project includes the construction of new curbs, driveway aprons, installation of pedestrian access ramps at all intersections, new asphalt pavement and the restoration of disturbed grass areas. Project is scheduled to be completed in May 2010.
Champlain Avenue, Lakeview

Chestnut Street, West Hempstead

Guilford Park Area Part II, Seaford
Project Area - Marjorie Lane, Corral Path and a portion of Woodward Avenue in Seaford.
Storm Water Drain and Road Improvement - The project includes the construction of new curbs, driveway aprons, installation of pedestrian access ramps at all intersections, new asphalt pavement and the restoration of disturbed grass areas. The project is underway and scheduled to be completed in Spring 2010.
Lorenz Avenue, Baldwin
