Women's History Month Program | 03/08/2016

Hempstead Town Hall, Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead

3 PM

Each year the Town of Hempstead proudly celebrates the achievements of outstanding women. During the month of March, nationally recognized as Women’s History Month, the Town of Hempstead presents its Pathfinder Award to to nine women who have excelled in their careers, the arts, education and volunteer activities, among other areas. You can help us to make this year’s Pathfinder Ceremony a very meaningful event.

So that we might acknowledge the most deserving women with this prestigious award, we are contacting local organizations, businesses, schools and individuals asking that they recommend candidates for the Pathfinder Award.  Each nominee will be carefully considered in the category specified by the person or organization making the recommendation.  Award winners will be honored at a special Town Hall ceremony at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 before their friends and family.

We hope you will take a few minutes to nominate a candidate WHO EITHER LIVES OR WORKS IN THE TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD. You may download a nomination form below. Categories to be considered are as follows: ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT, BUSINESS, COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, EDUCATION, HEALTH SERVICES, HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR, HUMANITARIAN, TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD EMPLOYEE AND VOLUNTEER (see explanation of each category on the nomination form).

The completed nomination form, a resume of the nominee including their community service and special interests, as well as a brief summary of what you feel makes them stand out among their peers must be returned to the Office of Communications and Public Affairs no later than February 8, 2016.
