The fee is $50. Applicants must come in person to be fingerprinted and checks for criminal records will be conducted. The licensing of peddlers and peddler vehicles offers the public a measure of protection from unlicensed and unscrupulous vendors. The Nassau County Police Department is charged with enforcing these licenses.
