Cupid will make an early appearance at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, as “matchmakers” will help find your new sweetheart at the Valentine’s Day Open House on Saturday, February 11th. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., qualified “matchmakers” will be on hand to help you find the love of your life, an adorable adoptable cat or dog, to welcome into your home. During the Valentine’s Day Open House, the shelter is waiving all pet adoption fees. What’s more, all adoptions made during the Open House will include free vaccinations and spaying/neutering services.
Whether or not you decide to adopt a cuddly Valentine, visitors are welcome to stop in and learn more about the benefits of pet adoption and tips about pet ownership. Our veterinarian will be available to answer your pet medical questions. Also, visitors will have a chance to learn more about the Animal Shelter’s fostering programs.
All of the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter’s dogs and cats have been spay-neutered, received age appropriate vaccinations and tested for feline AIDS/leukemia.
In addition to vaccinations and spaying and neutering services, the shelter will be offering its microchipping program for free during the Valentine’s Day Open House. The microchipping program places a safe implant in your pet to help lost pets reunite with their owners.
Come meet your new cuddly cat or dogs this Valentine’s Day. For more information, call the shelter, located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh, at (516) 785-5220. The shelter’s adoption hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
